Horsing around! Gavin Rossdale has a boys' day at the stables with sons Kingston and Zuma
He's an active father who makes sure to spend quality time with his children.
And on Saturday Gavin Rossdale made it a boys' only outing to a stable in Burbank, California, with sons Kingston, eight, and Zuma, six.
The Bush frontman was seen without his wife Gwen Stefani as he treated the boys to a day of horseback riding.
Fun day: Gavin Rossdale and his two son, Kingston and Zuma, learned to ride a horse on Saturday in Burbank, California thanks to a female instructor
The 48-year-old, who is also Gwen's mentor on the upcoming season of The Voice, rode a horse and watched his boys interact with the animals even letting Kingston do some trick riding by standing upright on the saddle.
Rossdale was dressed in a white T-shirt with black jeans and sneakers.
He styled his look with a black strapped necklace and camouflage bucket head with his hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Showing them how it's done: The trio took turns riding the same horse as Gavin got in a quick stroll before watching his sons learn how to ride from a female instructor
The oldest child was in all black and wore a Nike shirt, basketball shorts, long socks and sneakers while his younger sibling Zuma wore a similar outfit but with a red flare.

Kingston was a fast learner as he bravely stood on the horse's back keeping his balance steady with his arms in the air.
Zuma, meanwhile, was spotted playing with a donkey that was a little more his size while his big brother attempted trick riding.

On Friday, Rossdale opened up to Rolling Stone about his new role as mentor on Team Gwen for the seventh season of NBC's The Voice.
'It was fun to both be together at work, ' he said. 'It was important to me to be really open to it. Obviously, my journey through music is completely antithetical to what that show is about. I like how it brings people together.'
Gavin continued: 'When you meet those people coming in, they have great voices and they've worked a long time. It takes a long time to sing like that. They sound really good. You can't help but get emotionally involved with those people. You see how much it means to them.'
With a little bit of Dad's help: Zuma, aged six, held onto the saddle as his father held onto the horse while his son attempted to ride the rather large animal
More his size: Afterwards, Zuma found a donkey that he could more easily ride
When asked if he and his wife made a point of not mixing their careers together before appearing on the hit music competition show, he admitted, 'a little bit, yeah. But also we never had the opportunity.'
'We met touring together, and I would have loved touring more since, but it got further and further apart. It was just fun to work with her and see her in action. I think they really love her on there.'
On his wife's influence on the show, Gavin lovingly said: 'It's fun to see people enjoy her and her professionalism, her insight and her kindness. She is full of compassion and is very sweet to these people singing, because you feel their pain when they come in. It's a big moment in their lives.'
