If he hadn't got the message before, he may well have now - David Lucado is never, ever getting back with Britney Spears.

According to TMZ, the singer has banned her cheating ex from coming near her and has blocked his phone number to stop him calling.

'He's persona non grata,' a source told TMZ.

The 32-year-old singer ditched her boyfriend of 18 months this week after it emerged he was filmed purportedly kissing another a woman in a video - which was initially shopped to media outlets before being bought off the market by Britney's father Jamie to prevent it from being leaked.

She announced her relationship status on Twitter on Thursday posting: 'Ahhhh the single life!'

A representative for the star also told MailOnline: 'Yes, she’s single'.

The star later recorded and released a video on Instagram revealing her heartbreak.

She said: 'OK if you ever have a really, really, sh***y day. Find someone with shoes with hearts on them. Made my day!'

After pointing the camera towards a friend's shoes, Britney then gave a pained smile to her fans.

But according to TMZ, Britney has not spoken to David since the news broke and he wants a chance to explain himself.

An insider explained: 'David never heard about the break up directly from Britney ... and he wants to have that talk, just in case he still has a slim shot.'

However that seems unlikely given the latest developments.

A source said: 'David won't be getting through because he's persona non grata at her show in Las Vegas, at her home in Thousand Oaks, California and his phone number's been blocked.'

Britney's father Jamie even bought the video off the market to prevent the footage from being leaked.

The singer - who first started dating David in March 2013 - is throwing herself into her Las Vegas residency concerts in an attempt to distract herself from the split.

However, Lucado still appears to be hoping to work things out, with a representative telling TMZ: 'David is very, very in love with Britney. This is unfortunate and he hopes that it all works out.'

Meanwhile, there was further heartbreak for Britney after Star magazine claimed David was spotted dancing with another woman at Micky’s in West Hollywood on August 2.

A source told the magazine that they were 'were dancing all night. They seemed really into each other.'
The eyewitness added: 'David had his hands all over this woman.'

Britney is currently in Las Vegas where she is in the middle of a string of dates for her Piece Of Me residency at Planet Hollywood.

'She is heartbroken. She is in Vegas,' a source told E! News. 'But she will get through it. She's a strong girl and he was never right for her.'

The pair's relationship looked to have been going from strength to strength, with 'everyday' Dave regularly spotted out and about with the singer's children Sean, nine, and seven-year-old Jayden by ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Date night! All seemed to be going well in the relationship with Britney posted an Instagram image two weeks ago, featuring she and Dave and the caption: 'Date night'

In fact, two weeks ago, Britney posted a snapshot of herself with Dave via her Instagram account with the caption 'date night.'

Last December in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Britney described the attraction between she and David as 'instant' after they were introduced by mutual friends at a party.

'I just love that he's very passionate and he's funny and he's sexy and I don't know I like him. I just love him,' she said of her beau who works at a law firm.

Britney began dating Dave months after splitting from her fiancé Jason Trawick last January after a three year relationship.

Britney married Federline in September 2004 but filed for divorce just over two years later with the split finalised in 2007.
