He was hospitalised just one week ago following a shocking swimming pool accident.

But on Monday, Usher Raymond V appeared to have bounced back as he spent time at a children's play centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

On the mend after his harrowing ordeal, the youngster was clearly in the mood to expel some energy after being cooped up in hospital.

Under the watchful eye of family, the five-year-old and his younger brother, Naviyd, spent some well-deserved fun time playing at Mighty Jumps.

The indoor party and play centre is certainly not for the fainthearted - featuring very energetic bouncing inflatables, obstacle courses and
giant slides.

Emerging some time later, the oldest son of
R'n'B singer Usher showed little sign of the incident on August 5 which left him in intensive care - except for the large bandage he sported on his right forearm.

The five-year-old was pulled from the pool unconscious after getting his arm stuck in the drain while attempting to retrieve a toy.

Two contractors working on the star's house freed the child after the failed attempts of his great aunt, Rena Oden, who was watching the boys at the time, and a maid.

The youngster was successfully given CPR on the scene and was conscious as he rode in the ambulance to the hospital with his frantic father by his side.

The boy looked to have had a great time with his sibling on Monday, as he made his way out of the play centre carrying two colourful plastic tennis racquets and a ball.

Dressed in green cargo shorts and a navy blue and white T-shirt, he squinted in the bright afternoon sunlight as his eyes adjusted to spending time in the indoor facility.

Usher V was only released from the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite facility on Sunday, and was already back at school on Monday for orientation as the new year gets underway.

He was joined by his mother, Tameka Foster, at school as she tries to spend as much time as possible with her son following his accident.

The 42-year-old attempted to gain temporary primary custody of Usher V and four-year-old Naviyd on Friday on the grounds that her superstar ex is shirking his parental responsibilities.

However, the judge dismissed her appeal, describing recent events as an 'awful accident' and stating that it's not unusual for relatives to care for family members' children.

Usher needs to do the right thing and let Tameka see her children more. What an insensitive, selfish person he is.

Some of you are so judgmental! First of all, Usher was away from the house but he wasn't out of town. They said he was home within 15 minutes, in time to join his son in the ambulance. Are you people with your kids 24-7?? Don't you have babysitters, nannies, family members or the neighborhood teenager watch your kids EVER?? Parents can not be with their children 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He is fortunate to have family members who can be with his kids when he can't. Their mother lost custody of her children due to an inability to bond with her kids emotionally. That tells me she has some sort of psychological problem that keeps her from being a nurturing, loving mother. The children are better off with their father. Accidents happen every day. The child is fine, thank God. Children aren't ALWAYS better off with their mother because not all women have the mothering instinct.

Gosh, give the woman her children back. Only last week they were in court, and this week the kids are back in the care of his staff. NOT relatives. Surely she would actually look after them more than in her custody than he does now.

It's unusual for a father to be given custody, there must be good reason as to why. Those boys are super cute.
