CeeLo Green makes a return to Twitter as he apologises for 'idiotic' and 'untrue' rape comments made on his account
Just a day after deleting his Twitter account, CeeLo Green has returned to the micro blogging site - and he's very sorry.
The 39-year-old Grammy-winning singer was at the centre of a storm of criticism after he allegedly tweeted controversial statements about rape on Monday, just days after pleading no contest to furnishing a woman with ecstasy.
But by the late hours of Tuesday, he was back and very apologetic about the tweet, which didn't directly admit to writing himself.

No contest: CeeLo Green, pictured arriving at LA Superior Court on Friday, returned to Twitter on Tuesday, a day after quitting over controversial rape tweets
He wrote: 'I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.'
He apparently made the shocking statements while replying to Twitter users' comments on his drug case, according to an article on Monday by BuzzFeed.
'If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent,' he tweeted.
Sorry: In a carefully worded statement, the Grammy winner apologised for his previous tweets
He later added: 'People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!'
The former The Voice coach first deleted all of his tweets and later took down his whole Twitter account.
MailOnline has reached out to Green for comment.

Sentenced: The 39-year-old entertainer was sentenced by the judge to three years of formal probation and 45 days of community service
CeeLo, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, pleaded no contest on Friday to a felony charge of furnishing ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors rejected a rape charge against Green when he was charged with the felony drug charge in October 2013.
His attorney Blair Berk has said CeeLo had consensual sex with the woman he gave ecstasy to during the July 2012 dinner.
Superior Court Judge Mark Young sentenced the singer to three years of formal probation and 45 days of community service.
He's got contacts: CeeLo can serve his community service through MusiCares Foundation
CeeLo also entered a special plea in which he maintained his innocence in the case and that prevents his no contest plea from being used against him in civil court.
The drug case could be used against CeeLo in criminal court if he faces another drug offense.
CeeLo won a Grammy for the hit Forget You and performed as part of the duo Gnarls Barkley.
He left The Voice after he was charged but recently became the star of the TBS reality show The Good Life that premiered in June.
