By MailOnline Reporter

Cindy Crawford has just pulled her children Kaia and Presley out of their school in Malibu.

But the 48-year-old is obviously not finding home schooling a chore - stepping out for some retail therapy in Beverly Hills followed by a hike with her daughter on Tuesday.

The mother-of-two appeared to be in good spirits, smiling as she hit up high-end department store Saks Fifth Avenue.

Putting her svelte and toned figure on display, the brunette beauty sported a fitted sleeveless navy dress which she paired with nude sandals.

The original supermodel matched her shoes by carrying a tan tote for her shopping trip.

Meanwhile, the stunner showed off her natural radiance by wearing minimal make-up and styled her hair in a voluminous blow dry.

Cindy's outing came after she worked up a sweat with her daughter Kaia, 12.

'Getting active is more fun with the whole family! What activities does your family do together? #Getfittogether,' the Meaningful Beauty founder tweeted with a sporty snap of herself and her girl.

The two are surrounded by nature, clearly in the middle of a hiking trail.

Two weeks ago, the restauranteur told NBC's Today show of her decision to pull her and her husband Rande Gerber's children Presley, 15, and Kaia from the local public school in Malibu, California.

It came after three teachers were diagnosed with the relatively rare thyroid cancer and testing revealed high levels of the cancer causing chemical PCB found in material used to fit classroom windows.

'I look 10 years down the line,' cindy told interviewer Maria Shriver. 'What if my kid, God forbid, had a problem?

'How could I live with myself, if I knew that it was a possibility, and I still sent them to school there?'

Cindy, who is one of several parents to remove their children, offered to pay for regular, thorough testing.

She added: “I don’t feel 100 per cent safe.

'I think that air testing and wipe testings are a great piece of the puzzle. Unless they're testing every day, how do I know that every day it's safe for my kid?'
