Movies about the apocalypse are a dime a dozen nowadays.

But what about a 'snackpocalypse', where people self-destruct after a diet of junk food?

That's the subject of a new Funny Or Die spoof, in which Chloe Moretz plays a healthy heroine whose mission it is to save her school from candy and crisps oblivion.

The clip, which spoofs this year's Divergent, is presented as a trailer, and features a surprise cameo from Michelle Obama.

Moretz's fellow high school students have abandoned wholesome meals in favour of junk food, which leads to mayhem and illness.

Moretz stands out as one of the few who still eats fruits and vegetables, and she bcomes the reluctant heroine tasked with rescuing the students from self-destruction.

'After the war, everything changed,' says Moretz's voiceover at the beginning. 'They promised us revolution, they brought us revolution per their promise.'

Candy and fast food wrappers are seen strewn across the pavement.

A man is seeing running for class president, promising free junk food to all the students.

The pupils clamour for candy at the vending machine, while Moretz looks despondent as she munches on an apple.

Later, Moretz eats a carrot in the school hallway before she is accosted by a handsome boy (Tyler Posey), who asks her what she is doing.

'Having a snack,' she answers.

'Listen to me very carefully,' he says, looking into her eyes. 'You're different to the others.

'I think I'm just a normal, healthy girl,' she says. 'I like fruits and vegetables and sometimes I have a candy bar as a special snack.'

'Sssh,' he says. 'Don't let them hear you.'

Moretz is tipped as the only one to save the students, and direct them to the one healthy vending machine that contains fruit and vegetables.

She tries to get an apple from the machine but it jams, so she uses a bow and arrow to retrieve the fruit.

The camera then pans out, and it shows Michelle Obama and pals watching the trailer.

'Don't you hate it when trailers give away the whole movie?' says Obama.

She then takes a bite of a carrot and says, 'Can we just watch Frozen again?'
