Non-League Lewes have put up their own version of glamorous corporate boxes - six-man beach huts for fans.

The club, who are situated less than eight miles from the sea, have introduced the beach huts as their take on luxury pitch-side hospitality.

The Ryman Premier League side from East Sussex attracts crowds of up to 800 spectators every game.

Though they are no grandstand glass box, the four huts at The Dripping Pan ground are kitted out with food, a minibar, free wifi and a match programme.

The huts, which sit along grass banks, give spectators the best pitch-side seats whilst also overlooking the beautiful Sussex Downs.

Fans can hire the 8ft square huts which accommodate six people on a first-come-first-serve basis.

On match days these modest huts cost only £40 per person for groups of four or more.

Not only do they serve as boxes for games, they also function throughout the week as a more unusual setting for businesses to hold meetings.

Lewes FC commercial manager, Kevin Miller, said: 'We thought we'd dip our toe into the glamorous world of corporate hospitality.

'At this level we couldn't stretch to Premier League-style luxury.

'That said, our prices are a little more reasonable than the Premier League.

'These beach huts offer something a little different with entertaining, honest football set against a backdrop of the beautiful Sussex Downs.

'How many other football clubs in the world can offer that?'

Despite the club's latest addition, Lewes FC failed to bag three points at the weekend when they lost 5-1 at home to Margate FC.

Fans can also rent out one of the huts for the season for £5,000 - which includes ladies and under 18/21 games.

Arsenal fans looking for some luxury corporate hospitality can spend up to £7,200 including VAT to sponsor the match day ball, meet a member of the team and have a VIP dining experience for four people.

At Manchester United, fans can expect to spend £299 plus VAT for access to their premier lounge which offers free drink - apart from half-time champagne and an a-la-carte meal.

While fans of Hull City can sponsor a match against one of the top four teams for £3,000 plus vat which includes a corporate box for ten people.

Buying a beach hut in Sussex will typically set you back anywhere from £10,000 - £20,000.

In Kent, beach huts usually fetch prices of £15,000 - £25,000.

For a beach hut in Dorset, the average price is anywhere in between £25,000 - £50,000.
