There were only three people Gwen Stefani wanted to share her experience at the US Open with on Thursday, and that was her children.

The Hey Baby hitmaker kept her youngest son Apollo close as she watched the action from the stands at New York's USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The 44-year-old was later spotted chatting via video call to the six-month-old's siblings Kingston and Zuma, before turning the camera around to show them what was going on.

Perhaps it was a case of the flashbulbs catching her unawares, but later on the A-Lister ended up showing off more than she bargained for during a night out in the city.

The singer flashed her black bra through her semi-sheer vest top as she made her way into the Refinery29 Country Club launch.

The star teamed her nearly see-through top with a black leather jacket, which she had kept zipped at the earlier event.

Blue and grey patterned trousers, a black belt and strappy black heels added to the look, while the star's trademark bright red lipstick added a pop of colour to the ensemble.

Gwen has been busy promoting the new season of The Voice in which she makes her début as a judge alongside Pharrell Williams.

The pair will join stalwarts Adam Levine and Blake Shelton for the seventh season of the show on September 22.

'I remember, back a few years ago, when Kelly Clarkson came out, and we were like, "Oh!" - and I lost all of my VMA Awards to her,' she recently told Seth Meyers during an appearance on his Late Show when asked about the prevalence of TV talent shows in the music industry.

'I was like, "OK, well, I guess that, now, times have changed. Like, you can be on a talent show and make it in music."

Gwen, who is married to musician Gavin Rossdale, also discussed the role her son Kingston's faith played in the birth of her third child six months ago.

'He [Kingston] has a direct link to God, basically. He asked me, "Mom, are you gonna have a baby? I want you to have a baby."

'I was like, 'It's over. We're not having any more. This is our family."'
