Super-slim model Cassi van den Dungen back on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week...just months after her tiny frame sparked concerns after Alex Perry show

Her skinny frame put Cassi van den Dungen at the centre of a body-image controversy at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in April.

But the 21 year-old Australian model appears to have left the scandal behind, hitting the international catwalk on Thursday at Fashion Week in New York.

The brunette beauty walked for fashion label Honor, wearing a loose dress with full sleeves.

The 21-year-old's frame was mostly covered by a floaty silk dress, although her slender legs were once again on show.

Wearing a cream dress with black pattern detail, the middle of Cassie’s chest was also on display but her arms were covered by the long sleeves.

The model’s hair was parted in the middle and pulled back into a loose ponytail with wisps of hair left casually loose around her face as she walked.

Just before taking to the stage, Cassi shared a shot of herself on Instagram and wrote, ‘Hair and makeup ready for my first show'.

It was only back in April that A-List Australian fashion designer Alex Perry admitted he was 'wrong' in letting 'too thin' model Cassie wear his clothes at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia after coming under fire for her extremely thin shape. .

At the time, Alex told the Today Show: 'It’s not an image I think is a good one to put forward certainly not one I’ve presented my brand about. I don’t like it,' he told the show.

The Australia's Next Top Model runner up returned to the catwalk in Myers Spring/Summer launch in August, where she was sporting a pastel pink hair-do and a loose-fitting denim ensemble.

 Yet the former Australia's Next Top Model winner was back on the catwalk in Myer's Spring/Summer launch in August, which also featured the designs in his latest collection.

The young woman looked markedly different on the Myer runaway, sporting a pastel pink hair-do and a loose-fitting denim ensemble.

'For me, I’m not excusing it because I don’t think it’s right but you know you’re pulling 14-hour days you’re trying to get everything finished in time. 

I got distracted. 'I should have made that call, I should have been more aware of what that was. 'I was off the ball.' 

Now in New York, Cassi has been sharing her experiences with fans on social media. 

On Saturday she shared a shot of herself with friend Ria Salvation and two weeks ago she uploaded a shot of herself holding Prada paperwork with the caption: ‘'Just arrived in New York and ready for fashion week'
