She's got a whole wardrobe full of designer freebies to dress up in.

But model-presenter Alexa Chung has turned her ballet slippers into an accessory all of her own design - draping them round her neck like jewellery.

The 30-year-old budding ballerina has been snapped around New York recently with her pink satin ballet slippers hanging casually around her neck by their lengthy ankle ribbons.

She's also tucked her pair of beloved denim cut-offs under her arm as she strolls in a pair of tight, black leggings.

Chung has been seen out in New York wearing the same pair of casual shorts of late, even sporting them three days in a row this week with different tops and accessories.

The British Vogue contributing editor also opted to keep things light in an oversized tee featuring John Belushi's iconic image from the film 'Animal House.'

Her lips were accented with a bright red while she slung a boxy, retro purse over her shoulder.

In keeping with her slipper theme, Chung had on an adorable pair of Charlotte Olympia's cat slippers on her feet with tiny white ears poking up and a beautiful gold heel.

Chung spoke recently to Stylist magazine about her impending 31st birthday in November and how she'll deal with ageing as it approaches.

'Sometimes I'm like, "Oh my god, I'm going to get a facelift," but I don't think I really will,' the star said.

'I'll just live in the present and enjoy my remaining youth.'

She's certainly not looking any worse for the wear these days as she showed off makeup-free eyes behind her cat-eye sunglasses with nary a wrinkle in sight.

Chung is in town for New York Fashion Week which is only just getting underway but has already given the beauty reason to post pics to her Instagram partying with model pals like Cara and Poppy Delevigne.
