'It's been like rehab': Kellie Maloney makes dignified exit from CBB saying she's stronger... and looking forward to a night out with Lauren Goodger

By Becky Freeth for MailOnline

She may have been wearing a sophisticated blue dress and heels, but that didn't stop Kellie Maloney dropping to the floor to worship the outside world when she left Celebrity Big Brother on Friday.

The former boxing professional, who entered the house as Kellie two years after changing her name from Frank, compared her experience to being  'drunk' and leaving 'sober' as if she'd been in rehab.

Having learned plenty about beauty and being a woman from her fellow female housemates, Kellie emerged with more confidence and said she was looking forward to reentering the world stronger.

Kellie became the fifth VIP evictee on Friday night in a double eviction, much to the disappointment of show host Emma Willis, who called the exit 'bitter, sweet' because she'd loved her as a housemate.

The 61-year-old was clearly pleased to be on the outside and received a warm reception despite the in-show boos and 'Get Kellie out' chants from the live audience.

Emma, who dressed in a cute yellow blazer and shorts, asked the 61-year-old star whether she was happy to leave, but Kellie explained that she would be leaving a different person.

'I went into the house drunk.' she said. 'I've come out very strong and sober - it's been like rehab. And I hope the British public have learned a lot of about the transgender issue.

'I hope they will accept me when I go out.'

Kellie opened up about her transformation, saying she'd been taught so many things about being a woman from Essex glamour girl Lauren Goodger, saying she'd managed to bury some of her character as Frank.

Nails, hair and boys were all things Kellie was able to thank Lauren for teaching her, and the former boxing star even said she was looking forward to a few nights out with the party girl.

Kellie continued: 'I have burried a lot of Frank. I wanted to keep a little bit but the arrogant side came out a little bit when I got mad with Frenchy and Lesley... Then I grew in confidence and they [White Dee and Lauren] helped me learn a lot about myself.'

'For two years I've lived a very quiet life with only my friends and my dogs.'

And, when discussing her many altercations with James Jordan in the house, Frank said she saw 'a lot of Frank Maloney in James.'

Kellie felt James had revealed a bully side to him in today's task when he was forced to give an appraisal of his housemates and wrote something particularly cutting about Lauren, but chose not to admit it.

'James is just James.' she said. 'He might come out a better person, like me. He’s got to bury a lot of aggression in him. He’s got to grow up.'
