Hope you like lace, fringe and ruffles! Designers Rebecca Minkoff and Zimmermann keep it feminine on day two of New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week kicked into high gear on its second day, with celebrity dotted audiences at the Lincoln Center tents and elsewhere in Manhattan.
The looks were whimsical but wearable at Peter Som; billowing and beach-ready at Rebecca Minkoff; and downright mystical at Zimmermann.
We particularly like Ms Minkoff's denim overalls, surely inspired by Cressida Bonas.

REBECCA MINKOFF
Manhattan-based designer Rebecca Minkoff's Spring/Summer 2015 runway show at Lincoln Center made us immediately yearn for the beach.
The collection featured floppy hats, flowing dresses and tops, and earth-toned fabrics on tanned models who looked like they'd just stepped off the train from Montauk.
Let the sunshine in! Flowing dresses, earth tones, and floppy hats were standouts at the Lincoln Center show
Ms Minkoff, who is perhaps best known for her bags, didn't disappoint the celebrity-heavy crowd (Zosia Mamet and Coco Rocha among them). She gave classic clutches and large leather totes a bohemian flair by adding fringe and stud details.
And, always the entertainer, Ms Minkoff closed out her show with models and guests wearing 3-D glasses (never have differing lenses looks so stylish). Indie band Little Daylight performed all the while.

ZIMMERMANN
Australian designers Nicky and Simone Zimmermann took inspiration from the Art Nouveau illustrations on David Palladini’s tarot cards for their Spring/Summer 2015 show.
The designers poured on the layered ruffles, lace and gold metallic throughout their show. The models, with tightly pulled-back locks and huge hoop earrings, took on a muse-like, mystical quality.
We especially loved the sheer, polka-dot fabric and criss-cross ruffling on the swimwear, which the brand always gets just right.

PETER SOM
A favorite of first lady Michelle Obama, Peter Som ramped up the fun early Friday, with olive green in broad stripes and bold florals on his New York Fashion Week runway.
Som transitioned from easy living dresses, flouncy short skirts and sturdy jackets and coats for day to a series of gold lame looks for evening, offering a youthful flourish with flowery appliques on numerous outfits.
Fourteen-year-old Willow Shields, who plays Primrose Everdeen in the "Hunger Games," counted the three-dimensional applique among her favorite things from Som as she attended her first-ever fashion show — in grown-up heels!
"I'm getting better in heels, but they still hurt," she laughed.

The playful mood of Som's collection continued with colorful aprons wrapped around floral-print shirtdresses, a sleeveless top in with a fluttery, oversized back ruffle, and roomy T-shirts in snake prints in light pink and white.
Som turned to Christian Louboutin and his signature red soles for comfortable leather flat sandals in white, black and silver.
Shields, wearing a black Som outfit, explained how she likes the way the designer "mixes different things," like leather and the sewn-on flowers.
"That gives it a bit of a grungy look, but then there's flowers and that gives it a girly look," she said. "Balancing that is fun."
