Bedding somewhere nice? Helena Bonham Carter looks like she's in need of a duvet day as she heads out in pyjama-style oufit

She's never been one to follow the rules of fashion and isn't fazed by the opinions of the fashion pack.

Helena Bonham Carter, however, took her laid-back look to a whole new level on Wednesday as she enjoyed a stroll around her London neighbourhood.

The Harry Potter actress was spotted wearing what could be mistaken for loungewear, mixing a comfy patterned skirt, a lighweight top and an oversized striped cardigan.

She did give herself a bit of a boost though, donning a pair of platform black boots and slinging a yellow rain mac over her shoulder.

Her just-out-of-bed look comes after classmates at her yoga workouts at the Fierce Grace Yoga Centre in London’s Primrose Hill claimed she often turns up in pyjamas for exercises.

One fellow attendee said: ‘She wears baggy checked trousers that look like pyjamas and everyone else is in Lycra.’

But that doesn't stop her giving her all, the classmate added: 'Helena is very flexible and has great balance, particularly at some of the difficult moves such as the standing bow pose and a standing stick pose.’

Speaking recently about the attention she gets for her eclectic dress sense, the actress insisted she hasn't become more eccentric the older she gets.

She told Stylist magazine: 'It’s pretty difficult to self-assess. I’ve always been happy to wear things I like and not follow what’s in fashion.'

Helena continued: 'I just thought I‘d never look good in what everybody else wore. So there’s no point trying.

'You just have to do what suits you, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t look like everybody else.

'Be you. That’s our gift and we’ve got to celebrate that, but it does take ages.

'I was wracked with self-doubt for years. I get spasms of it even now – I’m not indelibly self-confident.'

Glam time: Despite her daytime look, Helena can do glamour with the best of them, like this black ruffled gown at Prince William's event for the Royal Marsden hospital at Windsor Castle
