Not long now! Game Of Thrones heads to Northern Ireland to film scenes for the highly-anticipated season five return

By Bella Brennan for MailOnline and Jennifer Pearson

Earlier in the month the Game Of Thrones cast and crew resumed filming for season five in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

But it was back to Northern Ireland on Tuesday with the team working overtime shooting scenes along the cliff edge of Binevenagh Mountain, near County Londonderry.

Indeed the rolling mountains, ominous sky and giant cliffs provided a picturesque backdrop for the award-winning TV show, which returns to screens in April next year.

Meanwhile in June the long-awaited season four finale of HBO's Game Of Thrones aried and delivered more action-packed fight scenes and angry dragons that won't be tamed.

Daenerys the Khaleesi has been flexing her ruling power all season long, and will be faced with her own biting reality in the episode entitled The Children.

HBO's official preview showed Dany (Emilia Clarke) turning slowly, her pale blue gaze bearing down on something until the screen is filled with the gaping, snapping jaws of her fiery dragons. Let the countdown begin: Season five of the hit HBO show returns in April 2015

'I haven’t seen it,' Harington revealed on Wednesday while attending the How To Train Your Dragon 2 screening.

'We never get to see it beforehand. I watch it like everyone else does when it comes out. Obviously, I’ve read the episode. It’s a big action-packed episode. There’s a lot happens in it that leaves people wanting more, and that’s what we want, people coming back to season five.'

Harington added: 'It doesn’t wrap things up in the same way that the last few episodes of the last few seasons have. It leaves a lot open. I’m excited to see it. It’s one of my favorite episodes I’ve ever done.'
