Melanie Griffith put her best foot forward on Tuesday as she continues to look ahead following her ‘loving and friendly’ split from Antonio Banderas.

The 57-year-old actress was in a chipper mood as she made her way to the gym for a therapeutic dose of exercise in Beverly Hills – and she greeted onlookers with a warm smile before making her way inside.

Melanie - the daughter of late Hollywood star Tippi Hedren – looked sporty in a cropped bralet that displayed her slender frame, while matching black leggings and running shoes completed the ensemble.

A grey sweater remained loosely tied around her shoulders, thus offering her look a preppy flourish while conveniently masking the tattooed dedication to her estranged husband – a large love heart bearing his name – on her upper right arm.

Melanie has been whipping herself into shape following her split with Spanish heartthrob Antonio, 54, in June.

At the time the couple released a joint statement announcing the end of their 18-year marriage, but insisted their divorce would be conducted in a ‘loving and friendly’ manner.

Following her gym session Melanie put her youthful and incredibly fit figure on display as she grabbed some smoothies in downtown Beverly Hills.

The actress wore a semi-sheer dress that displayed her long legs as she ordered the healthy beverages at an upmarket cafe.

Standing tall in motorcycle boots, the Working Girl star's black bra was visible in the diaphanous summer dress.

Looking sharp in cat's eye pink framed sunglasses, Melanie tied her iconic blonde locks in a neat pile on her head.

Covering her right arm was a small bandage to hide her 'Antonio' tattoo, which she is reportedly having removed via laser treatments.

Melanie recently said she's looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life.

'My kids are almost grown. I'm getting divorced. I'm just happy. I'm really joyful. Life is good,' the Oscar winner told Indiewire last month.

'I'm going to do a lot of things. I'm going to do Pippin on Broadway in January, [but] it's not about my career now. It's just about finding great work and having a good time.'

Treat for a friend? The actress carried two smoothies in a box

Handsome Antonio, meanwhile, has been in Spain promoting his new flick, Automata, in which Melanie also stars. The film was made when the couple was still together.

It's unknown if the 54-year-old heartthrob - whose already been linked to several young beauties - will be back in time for his daughter Stella Banderas's birthday party or if he's planning a separate celebration for his only child.

Stella is having her big coming-of-age 18th birthday on September 24.
