          This site is dedicated to the preservation of the history of the Second Mississippi Infantry Regiment and to the memory of the men who served under its banner during our American Civil War. On a more personal note, this site is also dedicated to the memory of my great-grandfather, Private Thomas Benton Weatherington, and his older brother, Private George W. Weatherington, both of Company H.
