Sweet Yeezus! Kanye West 'SALUTES' wheelchair bound fan as he performs benefit show in his hometown... after THAT incident at Sydney gig

Kanye West reportedly atoned for his latest controversial episode by appearing to salute a wheelchair bound fan while performing in his native Chicago.

The divisive rapper came under fire last week after halting a live show in Sydney to wait for a fan to get to their feet – before realising they were disabled.

But after returning to the United States, Kanye, 37, referenced the ugly scene after disabled fan Rick Guardino was hoisted above the crowd during a lively benefit show in his hometown.

The incident, captured on film, took place during the rapper’s headline appearance at the inaugural Ahhh! Fest 2014 – an event co-sponsored by Kanye’s charity, Donda House.

As Guardino looks on, the outspoken rapper offers a salute before bursting into another track for thousands of fans at the Union Park event, which also featured performances from Jennifer Hudson and rap veterans De La Soul.

The incident follows an embarrassing gaffe at Sydney’s sprawling Credit Union Arena, when Kanye stopped his show in the middle of track Good Life and sent bodyguard Pascal Duvier to check that seated fans were definitely wheelchair bound.

‘I can't do this song, I can't do this show until everybody stand up,' he barked, saying fans were only exempt if 'you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s**t.

‘Lemma see you if you ain't standing up, believe me, I'm very good at that.'

When the musician saw a concertgoer waving a prosthetic limb to explain why they weren't dancing, he acknowledged them, saying: 'Okay, you fine!'

But when another fan remained seated, he said 'this is the longest I've had to wait to do a song, it's unbelievable,' before sending Pascal to check whether the person was in fact in a wheelchair - which they were.

He later referenced the ugly scene at a performance in Brisbane, telling a crowd that included wife Kim Kardashian: 'At my concerts I make sure everybody has as good a time as possible.

'So all this demonising me, it ain’t gonna work after a while. Pick a new target. Pick a new target!

'Cos I’m not one of these dumb-a**e artists that you’re used to.

'You come to me, I’m gonna take my platform and I’m gonna break down this s**t down for real, intelligent people every night so they can understand.'
