'Shooting in the nude is against my principles!' Coco Rocha reveals how she 'made it' as a supermodel without ever compromising herself

She's one of the most in demand supermodels currently working in the fashion industry.

And while Coco Rocha has appeared in countless runway shows and photo shoots since being discovered at 14, she refuses to pose nude.

In the latest issue of Flare, the 26-year-old revealed how she wouldn't compromise her values from an early age in order to 'make it' in the business.

Coco not only appears on two covers for the November issue of the Canadian publication, she also serves as the magazine's first guest editor.

The spread features the statuesque beauty draped in various lavish couture ensembles all artistically shot and never exposing too much skin.

Despite being in an industry that often requires young girls to pose in states of undress to sell a product, the devout Jehovah's Witness never considered getting naked to further her career.

'I remember at 15 being told point-blank by an agent that in order to "make it" as a model I'd have to shoot nude, even though it was against my principles,' the Toronto native said.

'That never sat well with me. Why should I have to give up rights over my own body just to "make it"? That's when I decided to put certain clauses into my contract.'

The catwalk queen acknowledges that her strong stance may have cost her some jobs but believes her unwavering integrity led her to other assignments which helped launch her meteoric rise.

'Perhaps I heard "no" more often because of it, but there are always clients who are willing to work with a confident woman who knows who she is.'

She added: 'I like to think that my career is proof that you can stay true to yourself and make it in this industry.'
