Don't mention the sex scenes! Dakota Johnson dines with father Don in LA ...after admitting she doesn't want him to see 50 Shades Of Grey

Dinner with dad was on the menu Friday night as 50 Shades Of Grey actress Dakota Johnson and papa Don ate out in West Hollywood.

The two were seen at popular eatery Craig's along with his wife, 44-year-old Kelly Phleger.

Dakota, 25, was in a colorful mood as she was wearing a bright blue sleeveless blouse with rusty orange pants and black heeled boots.

Her father was wearing a much more conservative white button-down shirt with dark pants, definitely more appropriate for the iconic 64-year-old star of Miami Vice and Nash Bridges.

It's anyone's guess as to how much of the conversation revolved around Dakota's upcoming role in the steamy, sordid and sexy movie.

Dakota is playing the coveted role of Anastasia Steele, a literature student who finds herself in an intense S&M relationship with Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.

And dad has already weighed in with varying opinions about his daughter's randy role.

In an interview with Good Morning Britain earlier his year, Don showed his confidence in her ability to portray the character of Anastasia, even if he never goes to see it.

'This is what we do, and I am absolutely certain that Dakota will take a piece of material and a character which a lot of people might imagine could be inappropriate in some ways and turn it into something spectacular,' Don said.

'Speaking like a proud father and also a seasoned professional, I can tell you that she is a gifted, gifted actress and this will just be one part in a long line of tremendous performances in her career.'

Though privately, it's been rumored that there is tension because of the project's subject matter.

And in fact, Dakota's already been on the record as asking her mother, 57-year-old Melanie Griffith, and her father to shun the sex-themed film, based on the best-selling E.L. James novel.

'[Dakota] was like, 'You guys cannot come. There's no way.' So we're not going,' Griffith said last year.

Dakota said in a recent TV interview that if the roles were reversed: 'I wouldn't want to watch either of my parents in any film in which they had to take their clothes off.

'And if it were either of them in this particular movie, I definitely wouldn't want to see that.'

Dakota has more than the scandalous role lined up for the 2015 calendar year.

The busy actress, who had roles in 21 Jump Street, Need for Speed and the The Social Network, has no less than six projects in production or set for release in 2015.
