Indian-influenced British rock act Cornershop is attempting to stream the longest ever remix by broadcasting an ever-changing, continuously mixed version of the 14-minute track "Spectral Mornings" on its official Web site. The broadcast began today (Feb. 12) at 19:00 p.m. GMT (2 p.m. ET) and is planned to last for 24 hours. It precedes the April 1 international release by Wiiija of the group's new album, "Handcream for a Generation." Beggars Banquet will issue the set the following day in North America.

The 13-track "Handcream for a Generation" features a variety of collaborations, including Oasis's Noel Gallagher, who plays guitar on "Spectral Mornings." Soul legend Otis Clay lends his vocals to opener "Heavy Soup." The album is the long-awaited follow-up to 1997's "When I Was Born for the 7th Time," which featured the international hit "Brimful of Asha." The set reached No. 5 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold 198,000 copies in the U.S. to date, according to Soundscan.

The single "Lessons Learned From Rocky I to Rocky III" was issued this week in the U.K. All tracks were written and produced by Tjinder Singh, with the X-ecutioners' Rob Swift co-producing "Wogs Will Walk" and "Slip the Drummer One." The group is set to play its first live date in four years tomorrow night (Feb. 13) at London's Scala. A late-spring tour is in the planning stages.

During their break from Cornershop, group members Singh and Ben Ayres have focused on setting up their record label, Meccico, and their side project, Clinton, which issued the album "Disco and the Halfway to Discontent" in 2000 on Astralwerks.
