Making a splash: Rumer Willis is dynamic in For The Record: Baz Luhrmann
In the short video, Rumer can be seen performing a famous scene out of 1992 Baz Luhrmann film Strictly Ballroom.
Embodying the role of Fran, Rumer tries to convince her future partner Scott to take her on.
Scott says: 'Look, a beginner has no right to approach an Open Amateur.'
Dancing it out: The actors all rotate roles each night of the play which mashes up The Great Gatsby, Romeo + Juliet, and Strictly Ballroom
'Yeah, well an Open Amateur has no right to dance non-Federation steps,' Rumer replies, 'but you did, didn't you?'
Scott: 'But that's different.'
It is then that Rumer gets the crowd audibly rolling with laughter as she hits her comedic marks in the iconic monologue: 'How is it different? You're just like the rest of them! You think you're different, but you're not, because you're just, you're just really scared!
Getting into character: Rumer pictured in a scene from the Moulin Rouge portion
'You're really scared to give someone new a go, because you think, you know, they might just be better than you are! Well, you're just pathetic, and you're gutless. You're a gutless wonder! Vivir con miedo, es como vivir a medias!'
She then bursts in comedically-timed tears, eliciting a hearty chuckle from the audience.
The play is a mash up of various films by Luhrmann, The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet and Strictly Ballroom with the cast rotating roles for each night of the play's run.
For The Record is running the play in Hollywood until October 19.
