BANGSAMORO HISTORICAL NOTES
CALL FOR BANGSAMORO UNITY AND THE CALL
FOR BANGSAMORO MARTYRDOM
Clearly, Allah has taught the believing humanity: "O believers!
Fear Allah as He should be feared and die not but as true
Muslims. All together hold fast to the rope of Allah (Faith of
Islam) and be not divided among yourselves." (Surah 3, Al-'Imran:
102-103)
"Be not like those, who became divided into sects and who
started to argue against each other after clear revelations had
come to them. Those responsible for division and arguments will
be sternly punished." (Surah 3, Al-'Imran: 105)

Truly conscious of Bangsamoro unity, the patriarch of the Moro
freedom struggle against Philippine colonialism, Chairman Prof.
Nur Misuari of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), has
now taken the initiative to unite the Bangsamoro people,
including the freedom fighters and the civilian masses. Barely a
few weeks ago, the MNLF Chairman conducted a personal dialogue
with Chairman Al-Ustaj Amiril Umra Kato of the Bangsamoro
Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM) in central Mindanao. A new
revolutionary group that separated from the
Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MNLF) under Chairman Hj. Murah Ebrahim, the
Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement has decided to continue
actively struggling for an independent Islamic State for the
colonized Muslims of Mindanao following the wisdom of the
martyred MILF Chairman Al-Ustaj Salamat Hashim. This was at the
instance when the MILF abandoned the struggle for an
independent Islamic State in Mindanao, but instead opted for
peaceful negotiation with the Manila government for the
establishment of a "Bangsamoro Substate".
After the unity meeting with the BIFM Chairman Al-Ustaj Amiril
Umra Kato in the jungle of central Cotabato, Chairman Prof. Nur
Misuari traveled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to pursue the unity of
the MNLF and MILF in establishing a 'coordination and
cooperation' committee of the two revolutionary fronts under the
auspices of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). The
unity meeting has been arranged by the OIC to strengthen the
leverage of the oppressed and colonized Bangsamoro people in the
Islamic global community. Lately, the OIC was consulted by the
US government under President |

brotherhood between the two

Barrack Hussein Obama related to
the peace process between the Philippine government and the Bangsamoro people. Together with the European Union (EU), Japan
and some ASEAN countries, the United States of America (USA)
have taken keen interest to bring closure to the Filipino-Moro
war in war-ravaged Mindanao through a comprehensive peaceful
solution.
It is recalled that the Bangsamoro people of Filipino-occupied
Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA) through MNLF
representation have appealed to the 57-nation pan Islamic body
to upgrade their status from being a 'permanent observer' to OIC
membership. The MNLF leadership had in the past undertaken the
political course similarly taken by the oppressed and colonized
Palestinian people whose leadership under the Palestine
Liberation Organization (PLO) had successfully gained initial
OIC membership, leading to observer status in the United Nations
(UN). Today, an 'independent Palestine State' has gained full
membership in UNESCO.
With the crucial move now in establishing unity of the major
liberation fronts by the prominent Bangsamoro leaders, like MNLF
Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari, MILF Chairman Hj. Muard Ebrahim and
BIFM Al-Ustaj Amiril Umra Kato, the turn of positive event has
sent a strong message to all Bangsamoro sectors, such as the
freedom fighters, professionals, women and youth, to contribute
positively their time and energy by any possible means to end
the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao for the sake of permanent and
durable peace.
On this positive note, the Bangsamoro people of war-torn
Mindanao are appealing to the peaceful community worldwide to
help by any peaceful means to close the chapter of the
decades-long Filipino-Moro war in Southeast Asia in ensuring for
total peace, equal justice and full development to prevail in
the region.
ON BANGSAMORO MARTYRDOM
In the past days of Zulhijja 1432H (registering November 2011),
the martyrdom or demise of the valiant principled BIFM Chairman
Al-Ustaj Amiril Umra Kato had been reported by the Philippine
media, but without physical proof or evidence. The piece of
unconfirmed information spread like a wild fire throughout the
Bangsamoro homeland, coming as it was after the historic unity
meeting of the BIFM Chairman and MNLF Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari.
While some sectors positively believed in the startling
revelation, the BIFM freedom fighters dismissed the martyrdom of
their militant leader merely a disinformation.
Thus, true or not, let it be said that martyrdom is a welcome
event to the Muslim Mujahidin. The Bangsamoro legendary leaders,
like Amah Usman Salih of Patikul, Sulu, Al-Ustaj Salamat Hashim
of Cotabato and towering others from Lanao, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi
and Palawan, had always welcomed their martyrdom with utmost
pride serving the oppressed and colonized Bangsamoro people
under Philippine colonialism. Similarly, today's Bangsamoro
martyrs have only emulated their heroic Mujahidin forefathers,
who sacrificed their lives against the Spanish, American and
Japanese colonizers for the sake of justice, freedom and peace.
The Bangsamoro martyrs are always guided by the sublime wisdom
of Allah Almighty: "And say not of those who are killed in the
Way of Allah, "They are dead." Nay, they are living, but you
perceive (it) not." (Surah 2, Al-Baqarah: 54)
"Do not suppose those who were slain in the way of Allah to be
dead; rather they are living and provided for near their Lord,
exulting in what Allah has given them out of His grace, and
rejoicing for those who have not joined them from (those left)
behind them that they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.
They rejoice in Allah's blessings and grace, and that Allah does
not waste the reward of the faithful." (Surah 3. Al-'Imran:
169-171)
Hence, the sacred struggle for justice, freedom and peace is
always in the blood of the Bangsamoro people, who are always
guided by Allah: "Fighting has been made obligatory for you,
much to your dislike. It is quite possible that something which
you do not like is good for you and that something which you
love is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know." (Surah
2, Al-Baqarah: 216)
"O believers, fight in the path of Allah without fear of death
and bear in mind that Allah hears and knows everything." (Surah
2, Al-Baqarah: 224)
In the final analysis, it is always worth fighting and dying for
justice, peace and freedom to the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao
under Philippine colonialism by the Bangsamoro freedom fighters
seeking martyrdom. -osm, mnlfnet.com
