Denied! Teresa Giudice won't be able to serve her time at low-security prison where Orange Is The New Black is set... judge did not warm to her heartfelt letter

Teresa Giudice won't be able to serve her time at the prison where Orange Is The New Black is set.

On Tuesday TMZ reported a judge denied her request after reviewing a heartfelt letter the Bravo star penned requesting the famous facility.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star - who has been sentenced to 15 months behind bars for fraud – also saw her crisis manager Wendy Feldman quit that same day, according to UsWeekly

Giudice hoped to be incarcerated at Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut - the prison Orange Is The New Black's Litchfield is based on - as she claims this would allow her to be visited by her four daughters more easily.

RadarOnline reported Monday that a letter was submitted to Judge Ester Salas expressing that Giuidice’s former attorney did not request a specific prison at the time of sentencing, and the star would now like to amend this.

‘During Ms. Giudice’s sentencing, the Court expressed its intent to have Ms. Giudice serve her sentence in a camp environment,’ the letter read. ‘The sentencing transcripts reflect that Your Honor mentioned Danbury and West Virginia. We acknowledge that at the time of sentencing, defense counsel did not ask for a specific designation.'

It was added, ‘However, upon review of the judgment of conviction, and in discussions with a Bureau of Prisons expert, the language of the judgment as written will likely result in Ms. Giudice being designated to Metropolitan Detention Facility Brooklyn, or Metropolitan Correctional Facility Manhattan…both of which are administrative facilities that house females.

‘This was clearly not the intention of the court when inquiring as to Danbury or West Virginia as a designation. Ms. Giudice’s offense and her Bureau of Prison classification will qualify her to be designated to a camp, however, the language of the judgment must reflect the same.’

Giudice’s attorney then requests the judgement be changed to reflect that the Court recommends her for ‘a non-administrative facility placement’ and adds this would be in order ‘to facilitate visitation with her young children’.

The 42-year-old’s defense asks that if there is no room to incarcerate her at Danbury in Connecticut, she go to Anderson in West Virginia.

Danbury is a low-security federal correctional institution which allows visitors three days a week, and Anderson is a minimum security federal prison camp with four visiting days a week.

Although they are further away than the two facilities Giudice was hoping to avoid being incarcerated at, the Metropolitan jails house inmates of varying security levels and likely have stricter visiting hours.

The reality star must report to the chosen facility on or before January 5 to begin serving her sentence.

Once she has completed her time, her husband Joe will begin serving the 41 months he was sentenced to during their fraud trial.

The couple will be incarcerated at separate times so that one of them can look after their four children: Gia, 13, Gabriella, nine, Milania, eight, and five-year-old Audriana.

Feldman reportedly did not want to work with Teresa after she requested the Orange Is The New Black prison.

'Sadly, my time with Teresa and has come to an end,' Feldman told Us Weekly. 'My client relationships are very important to me, however today's filing regarding Teresa's Bureau of Prisons designation request was not done with my knowledge or input. I am not the consultant referred to in filing.

'This is clearly not the first time my advice has not been followed, but this is the time where the stakes are the highest. Both for my clients and myself, I work hard to maintain a strong relationship with the Bureau of Prisons.

'As I've tried to instruct Teresa, this is a process that must be respected.

'A designation to a camp is a gift, not a requirement from the BOP and the judge. By making this request, Teresa has jeopardized months of work, months of preparation and in fact may jeopardize where she is ultimately designated or sent to. My ultimate responsibility is to all of my clients, not just to Teresa.

'I'm hopeful that, at some point, a change occurs and rehabilitation begins. My thought and wishes will always be with her children," Feldman said.

She then added, 'I'm well-known for investing my heart and soul into my clients and today's decision didn't come lightly or without prior events leading up to this.'
