Samantha Jade is still coming to terms with the tragic passing of her mother Jacqui who lost her battle with cancer in June.

But the former X Factor star put on a brave face on Wednesday when she made her return to the red carpet at the Who Sexiest People party.

The 27-year-old stunned in an elegant cut-out dress as she joined Jess Mauboy, Dannii Minogue and model sisters Jessica and Ashley Hart at the classy Sydney event.

Classy: The 27-year-old stunned in a midi-length frock which she teamed with nude pumps

The Firestarter singer was all class in her midi-length design by Capital L that featured a halter neckline and semi-sheer finish.

She teamed the figure-hugging frock with a towering pair of nude pumps and kept her accessories to a minimum.

Sporting a sultry slick of dark eyeliner, Samantha completed her beauty look by pulling her balayage tresses into a low pony tail and plumping up her pout with lashings of gloss.

The reality television star led the fashion pack on the night with many of the celebrity guests filing into the venue at Fox Studios in trusty little black dresses.

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue slipped her petite frame into a glittering Aurelio Costarella design covered in black sequins.

The glitzy thigh-skimming frock showed off her trim pins which she further elongated with a pair of nude stilettos.

Despite having partied early late into the night at the X Factor wrap party on Monday, the younger sister of pop sensation Kylie looked fresh and well rested.

Revealing some of their after party shenanigans, she told Daily Mail Australia: 'We were dancing around a zebra!

Dannii was joined by fellow judge Natalie Bassingthwaighte who also opted for black in a strapless mini dress with a contrasting black and white detail at the bust.

The former Rogue Traders front woman wore her platinum blonde locks loose in cascading waves and sported a very rock chick black manicure.

The beauty was accompanied by her husband Cameron McGlinchey who was dapper in a sharp suit and crisp white shirt.

Breaking up the black, model sisters Jessica and Ashley Hart lit up the red carpet in complementing white ensembles as they posed for photos.

Victoria's Secret stunner Jess showed off her willowy supermodel figure in a loose-fitting pants-suit that emphasised her long limbs.

Meanwhile her younger sibling and former Dancing With The Stars contestant Ashley went for a lacy cropped top and A-line skirt combination.

Speaking To Daily Mail Australia at the event, the newly engaged beauty said she has yet to make a start on planning her nuptials to fiance Buck Palmer.

'I haven't even thought about it I've been so busy,' she laughed, 'We have no date yet. We're enjoying the bubble of engagement.'

The yoga enthusiast added: 'I want a beach wedding. We're going to start planning and Jess is going to help.'

Chiming in, Jessica said: 'I'll be the wedding planner,' to which her sister replied: 'Everything will be really shiny and expensive!'

On Thursday Samantha looked to be still processing her tragic loss as she shared an intimate picture of her holding hands with her later mother.

Samantha captioned the beautifully shot black and white close up: 'The world is just not as bright without your shine. Missing my Mumma!'

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia last week, she said working on her music has helped her get through the months since her mother's death, saying songwriting is 'almost like therapy'.

'As a songwriter anything that is close to you gives you inspiration,' she said, admitting the last few months have definitely influenced the themes of her upcoming tracks.

'We’ve really kind of touched on some of the sad things,' she continued, but also added she would like her new album to also feature some upbeat tunes.

It has been a tough few months for the pop star, who lost her mother to cancer on June 8.

The singer and actress has recently returned from a trip to New York, London and Paris with her father Kevin Gibbs and two younger brothers Alex and Thomas after saying their last farewell to the 51-year-old matriarch at the funeral at Freemantle Cemetery, Perth.

Emphasising the importance of having her family around her, Samantha said the last few months have 'been really tough' and having her family is 'the only reason I have got through it and getting through it actually.'
