Gwyneth Paltrow appears to poke fun at herself guest starring on Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy

She is known for her healthy attitude towards life, as well as her lifestyle guru business with her site Goop.

So it appeared actress Gwyneth Paltrow was poking a little fun at herself as she guest starred on Lisa Kudrow’s Showtime hit Web Therapy on Wednesday night.

Her earth mother-type character Maya Ganesh appeared to share a few similarities with Gwyneth, including being the owner of a lifestyle business called Golden Circles, and being a meditation and yoga specialist.

‘Would it be OK if before we start just call in the light?’ Gwyneth’s character Maya started off to Lisa’s hilariously uptight therapist Fiona Wallace.

‘What on Earth could be the problem for you?’ Fiona asks Maya, poking fun at the fact she seemingly has it all as an attractive and very rich business woman.

However, hilariously they bond after Fiona learns she could earn herself $10,000 as a guest speaker for Golden Circles.

Gwyneth has certainly found herself to be the target of scrutiny over years, most recently when she compared getting online negative comments to the experience of being in war.

'You come across (online comments) about yourself and about your friends, and it's a very dehumanizing thing,' Gwyneth said in May this year.

'It's almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it. My hope is, as we get out of it, we'll reach the next level of conscience.'

Interestingly, Gwyneth's character on Web Therapy revealed that she was not a fan of the internet, nor the comments people make on it.

'I haven't even heard of Yelp,' she said with a wry smile.
