'Got my first haircut in years!' Lauren Conrad debuts much shorter 'do as she steps out in figure-hugging green dress

Lauren Conrad doesn't usually like change when it comes to her hair, having kept her blonde locks in the same style for a number of years.

But now the 28-year-old TV personality has taken a risk, after chopping off her signature long wavy blonde hair in favour of a much shorter and choppier do.

She debuted the new do while running errands in a figure hugging green dress on Wednesday and in an Instagram snap captioned: 'Got my first haircut in years'

The former The Hills star showed off her choppy shoulder-length layers in the glowing selfie, in which she wears a ribbed garment that matches the colour of her eyes.

She kept her make-up to a minimum, with just some mascara to fluff up her lashes.

That day, Lauren showed off her new hairstyle as she stepped out to run errands in West Hollywood.

Lauren shielded her eyes in round sunglasses and strode along in strappy beige gladiator sandals, as she carried a little brown purse.

The blonde beauty was last pictured with her much longer hair at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles on October 11.

She was joined by her new husband, William Tell, at their first post wedding event.

There, Lauren told Us Weekly about married life: ‘It doesn't feel too different -- we felt married before we were actually married.'

The couple tied the knot at a boutique winery in picturesque Santa Ynez, California in September.

However, although their relationship hasn't changed after the wedding, William admits he's glad they've finally made it official after two years of dating.

Pointing to his ring, the 34-year-old law school grad said: 'I could get used to this.'

After exchanging their vows, the newlyweds spent their honeymoon driving around the countryside in Italy and then travelling on to Greece to take in the sights.

Lauren explained: 'We did Sicily in Italy and then Santorini in Greece. I think our favourite part about Sicily was the food.

‘We just had amazing meals everywhere. We rented a car and drove around, it was a beautiful place.'
