Christmas style by Lady Gaga, inspired by Dita Von Teese....and Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer

She's famous for spearheading new trends and getting an entire nation of fashion-conscious females to embrace the sculpted broad-shouldered look.

And now, if Lady Gaga's costumes for Capital Radio's Jingle Bell Ball are anything to go by, this Christmas's style inspirations are the unlikely duo of Dita Von Teese and Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer.

Appearing for a six-song set at the London event, the 23-year-old chanteuse wore a burlesque-style ruby leather halterneck bra and knickers teamed with fishnet tights.

Von tease: Lady Gaga's burlesque ensemble was reminiscent of dancer Dita's usual stage style

Accessorising with matching gloves and metal baton, the ensemble struck the Poker Face star's usual balance of kooky but raunchy for the energetic show.

As always, Gaga didn't disappoint - wowing fans and sceptics alike with energetic dance routines and impressive turns on the piano.

And if this didn't grab the crowd's attention, the singer ensured her departure would.

Donning white reindeer antlers and a transparent plastic dress, the star made her way through waiting fans wearing oversized sunglasses and red lipstick.

In an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine, the star expained her penchant for imaginative ensembles during her performances, saying: 'It's part pop show, part performance art, part fashion installation.

'It came about because as an artist, as a writer, as a woman, I feel I've evolved so much.'

And despite her risque stage appearances, she insisted she is still single: 'I don't know enough men and I'm quite isolated.

'I basically have no friends in the music industry. I've stayed away from that life. I don't go out with celebs, I don't go to many awards shows.'

She also pledged, that like her idol - the Queen of Pop - she intends to be in the charts for many years to come. 'I love and appreciate Madonna comparisons,' she said. 'I know her and I think she's wonderful. and I love pop music done the right way.

'I don't wanna be a song. I wanna be the next 25 years of pop music.'
