She must be bored of tattoos! Newly single Jordin Sparks gets her septum pierced with a nose ring

 With eight tattoos to her name, it's no wonder Jordin Sparks wanted to try something a bit new next time she visited a tattoo parlour.

And this time around the newly-single singer decided to get her septum pierced with a silver nose ring.

Jordin, 24, showed off the results of her piercing in a black and white selfie she posted to Instagram.

The singer headed to T-Man Tattoo in Studio City, Los Angeles, last week but apparently needed to really hype herself up before going through it.

TMZ say Jordin left the parlour but courageously came back to get her nose punched with a hole.

Sparks had to endure a lot of pain to get the piercing done as it reportedly took two tries to get the ring to go all the way through her septum, and she was given a $30 discount because of the trouble.

Jordin already has one side of her nose pierced as well as a few holes in her ears.

Her inkings range from a small heart on her finger to a cluster of flowers on the left side of her body, so it's no wonder she wrote a song called Tattoo.

It seems her ex-boyfriend Jason Derulo will be writing songs soon and using their break-up for inspiration.

He told Billboard: 'I think sometimes in life things are placed in our lives as a lesson, so you’ve got to take every negative experience and turn that thing into a positive.'

'I’m somebody who cannot keep those two things separate. Like, I have to put it on paper, put it on wax, put it in my songs. I cannot separate the two. My creativity, my personality won’t allow me to separate the two.'

Jordin and Jason broke up last month after three years together, and it looks like she will be doing the same thing as her ex by writing about their relationship.

She's been tweeting about being back in the studio, and has also been promoting her new film Left Behind.
