Naomi Watts has joined the likes of Blake Lively, Eva Longoria and Lara Stone as the new ambassador for L’Oréal Paris.

Dressed in a classic black tuxedo two-piece, the 46-year-old star looked the picture of pure elegance when she attended the presentation dinner in Paris on Wednesday evening.

Wearing her blonde locks in a sleek updo, Naomi injected a splash of colour to the proceedings with vibrant red lips and by painting her talons in the same shade.

‘Growing older gives you so many great things. But every now and again it just doesn’t feel great, and that’s just the truth,’ she told Body+Soul. ‘The hard times are when I wish I didn’t look so tired or my eyes worked better… Do I wish I had more collagen in my face or less lines? I’m just like any woman.

‘I am embracing where I am at this point in my life; the work I am being given and the great opportunities… playing strong women who have had amazing experiences.’

The King Kong star – who is married to American actor Liev Schreiber – is also in the midst of doing her promotional rounds for her latest flick St. Vincent.

Also starring Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy and Chris O'Dowd, the comedy revolves around a drunken, gambling war veteran named Vincent (Bill Murray) who gets recruited by his neighbour Maggie (Melissa McCarthy) to watch over her 12-year-old son Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher).

'I've done a little bit of comedy this year it turns out,' Naomi laughed recently on Good Morning America. 'And not the dark twisted roles I'm known for.'
