With the relentless rumours surrounding the nature of his relationship with Selena Gomez, Orlando Bloom is speaking out to insist that there's nothing romantic going on between them.

After a brief trip to Canada, the British actor, 37, was seen touching down in Los Angeles, where a cameraman enquired about his purported romance with Selena, 22, on Thursday.

And while it was all but assumed that they were Hollywood's newest couple, Orlando answered: 'No man, we were just attending We Day together,' before urging the cameraman to 'check out' information on the youth empowerment movement.

Indeed, the stars were in Vancouver for the event on Wednesday, and set tongues wagging when they were spotted travelling together to the Rogers Arena with rapper Macklemore, a group of pals and a security team.

As Selena noticed onlookers, she quickly covered her face with her black leather jacket and turned her face away.

Once they arrived at the event, Selena and Orlando apparently went their separate ways as they prepared to take to the stage.

Selena switched out from her all-black ensemble, which included knee-high leather boots, to something a lot more eye-catching.

The Come & Get It singer's two-piece outfit consisted of a classic-cut fuchsia top - with an ever so slight split at the waist, allowing a glimpse of skin - and fitted skirt to match.

She wore her dark hair pulled back into a tousled ponytail with strands framing her pink cheeks.

At another point during the conference, a casually-clad Orlando removed his bucket hat as he participated in a Q&A session with We Day founder Craig Kielburger to jump start the day-long event.

Orlando wore charcoal grey jeans and a dark, long-sleeved plaid shirt over another black T-shirt, along with canvas trainers.

His hair looked a little unruly as he held the microphone and addressed the crowd.

Meanwhile, Selena shared her enthusiasm for the whole experience in a Twitter message on Tuesday.

On Monday, Selena and Orlando set tongues wagging that they are an item when they appeared at Los Angeles International Airport.

Although they walked through security check point several feet apart, there was little doubt that they were travelling together to the same Vancouver destination.

They have been romantically linked to one another in the past following Orlando's separation from wife Miranda Kerr, and the new rumours came after Selena split from boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Justin and Orlando famously do not get along after they got into a bar brawl in Ibiza, Spain, at the end of July.
