Coleen Rooney sports painful-looking sunburn on Barbados break with sons... as Wayne celebrates birthday alone in Manchester

In order go home with a golden all-over glow, Coleen Rooney is prepared to suffer a few red bits during her holiday in Barbados, it seems.

The Liverpudlian was showing how not to tan on Wednesday when she looked as if she'd spent too much time in the sun, thanks to a few telltale burns.

Coleen, who's currently on a half term break with her sons Kai, five, and 17-month-old Klay, had been enjoying the sweltering temperatures aboard a boat while her husband Wayne Rooney was enduring the miserable weather at Manchester United's training ground, on his 29th birthday.

Father-of-two Wayne was missing out on the jet set trip with his sons after returning to work following a three match ban for kicking a West Ham player.

His wife, 28-year-old Coleen, hadn't spared a moment of enjoyment however, as she and her eldest Kai hit the clear waters for a snorkeling session. 

Coleen, wearing a skimpy blue and white patterned two piece, looked like she'd been lying in one specific position after the TV personality showed off white bits under her chin, arms and bikini top.

Coleen may have been hoping to make her husband of six years green with envy when she returned with an impressive holiday bronze.

But the 28-year-old would have to wait until her unfortunate patches of red had subsided.

Mrs Rooney had also been flaunting her enviable beach body in a string of teeny bikinis; her taut posterior and toned limbs on display.

England captain Wayne, meanwhile, was hitting the training ground hard on a day that was also his 29th birthday.

The footballer has just been entrusted to lead the England team in the Euro 2016 games under instruction from manager Roy Hodgson.

Coleen's Barbados break will be her tenth holiday in just over a year while her husband strengthens his footballing career at home.
