A Milwaukee County Board committee has again recommended selling a Park East lot to an office developer — a process delayed last month when the developer was accused of making a derogatory comment about workers.
With little discussion, the Economic and Community Development Committee voted 6-0 Monday to grant a purchase option to developer Jon Hammes' group, Milwaukee River Partners I LLC, for $35,000.
Hammes plans to combine the 0.37-acre county-owned parcel with a privately owned parking lot and a vacated block of N. Edison St. to create a 2.6-acre project site between N. Water St. and the Milwaukee River, north of E. Knapp St.(1)
