Not looking so nice! Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe get tough on set of crime thriller Nice Guys

They play hard men out to solve a crime in Nice Guys.

And Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe put on a tough front during an evening of filming in Atlanta on Friday.

The two hunky stars were spotted getting out of a 1978 Pontiac for what looked like some serious business.

Getting tough: Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe put on a strong front in Atlanta on Friday

Gosling, 33, was dressed in a blue retro suit as he sported mutton chops and some facial scruff.

He could be seen smoking nervously while the cameras rolled, appearing to embody his character of a private eye.

Crowe, 50, was looking mean in a leather jacket, blue jeans, and a button down shirt.

Meanwhile, Gosling, ever the professional, has been busy shooting 1970s crime thriller The Nice Guys in Atlanta, Georgia for a week now - just six weeks after the birth of daughter Esmeralda with long-time love Eva Mendes.

His character Holland March, a down-and-out private eye who joins forces with hired heavy Jackson Healy - played by Crowe - to investigate the seemingly unrelated cases of a missing girl and a dead porn star.

Ryan was joined earlier in the week on the set by co-star Kim Basinger as they filmed scenes together, dressed almost identically in sharp suits.

With no other roles currently in the pipeline, the new dad will have plenty of time to bond with his baby once filming wraps.

The movie is set to hit cinemas in June 2016.
