'Her chest can feed life!' Sarah Silverman defends Chelsea Handler's topless Instagram post

Chelsea Handler has gotten a new supporter - Sarah Silverman - in her crusade to get a topless photo posted to Instagram.

One day after Handler's breast-baring parody of Russian President Vladimir Putin riding a horse got censored by the social-networking site, Silverman happily jumped into the fray.

'IG took this down WHAT'S OFFENSIVE EXACTLY? That her chest can feed life?' Sarah wrote in a Twitter message on Friday.

Joking with purpose: Mocking a picture of Putin riding a horse, Chelsea wrote: 'Anything a man can do, a woman has the right to do better. #kremlin'

The uproar began after Chelsea took aim at Putin in a Twitter and Instagram post on Thursday.

However, Chelsea certainly turned heads when she pulled the stunt, as she rode horseback topless for the picture.

Instagram it seems did not see the funny side, and promptly took the picture down, angering Chelsea.

She wrote afterwards: 'Taking this down is sexist.'

'I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin' she added.

The joke may have begun in response to Putin's comments on women, particularly Hillary Clinton, when he labelled her 'weak' earlier this year.

Chelsea has long been a supporter of Hillary Clinton and even joked on her show, Chelsea Lately, that she sees herself as a more 'masculine version' of the former Secretary of State.

It is not the first time Chelsea has made a statement about censorship on the Internet.

Earlier this month Chelsea posted a picture of herself flashing her breast while in a radio studio with Dave Grohl.

There has been talk that Chelsea's departure from E! to move to Netflix is so she will not have to edit or censor herself.

Sarah Silverman has a history of censored content as well and has mostly turned to outlets like pay-cable networks as a result.

One of her rare broadcast network pieces of art was the intensely viral I'm F***ing Matt Damon video, which aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2008.
