 I'm writing this on Wednesday evening and tomorrow we are expected to get a big storm in Northern California!  I'm not looking forward to the commute home tomorrow. It's bad enough on a normal day but I'm expecting it to be horrible tomorrow.  Many of the schools around here are going to be closed tomorrow...that never happens here!  I sure hope it ends up being not as bad as they are forecasting!

 

This week I'm sharing my dining room table.  I've done this same exact centerpiece for the last few years but I love it so I decided to do it again...

 

 

 

I've been sick for almost two weeks. I finally went to the doctor...she listened to my chest and said it sounds like I have pneumonia!  Although I've been feeling really sick I haven't had a fever, just wheezing and a bad cough.  She said since I haven't had a fever it's likely just bronchitis.  I've been on antibiotics a couple days and I'm feeling better finally. Thank goodness!

Christmas Mantel - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  I'm so thrilled I finally have a fireplace again! It's been so many years since I've had one. 

I couldn't wait to decorate it! I made the stockings out of some blue linen fabric and vintage lace I already had on hand.  I had the stocking pattern for over 10 years and never used it until now!

I used all the Christmas picks and ribbon that I used to put on my staircase bannister at my old townhouse apartment.  I'm all about using what I already have these days!



The mirror over the mantel was my daughters and it's been sitting in her closet for awhile now. I hung it up for now but I will be taking it down soon to paint it white so it goes with my blue and white décor better.  I plan to paint it before Christmas so I'll have to dismantle some of the mantel to get it down.

 

 I bought these beautiful embellished candles a few years ago at CVS after Christmas and they were 75% off.  I just love them!

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to Show and Tell Friday! 

 

I'm all moved into my new apartment (in the same complex) and I'm liking it so much better.  It took 2 1/2 days to move everything and 3 full days to get everything unpacked! I even have everything hung back up on the walls.

 

 

I decided to do something different on my dining room wall at this apartment and I like it so much better.  I did a mirror and plate wall. I may add some more small plates  to it later but for now this is okay.  I had all these things so it was just a matter of "shopping" through my own stuff to find just the right things to hang.

 

 

I'm exhausted! I just got everything done and then today I'm making Thanksgiving dinner. I got up and made some pumpkin pies this morning and the turkey is in the oven as I type this!

I set the table last night so I wouldn't have to deal with it today.

I'm really enjoying having a fireplace for Thanksgiving  but we have to open the sliding door because it's actually too warm here for a fire!

 

 

I put my blue cabinet in my dining room. Even though I have the exact same floor plan as the last apartment I have less living room wall space because of the fireplace.

Moving this weekend! - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  We start moving on Friday, Nov 20th!  As I mentioned last week we are just moving to another building in the same complex!  I have a few days to get my whole apartment unpacked and put back together because I'm hosting a small Thanksgiving dinner at my new place!  ...and after Thanksgiving I'm decorating for Christmas! I can't wait!!!!

 

 I don't have much to share this week because my apartment is just full of boxes but I did snap this photo of Coco a couple weeks ago so I thought I would share that!  I miss her beautiful long hair but it's so high-maintenance having to brush her all the time.

A little more Autumn Decor and our upcoming move - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!

 

 

I originally had some faux Autumn leaves in this centerpiece and I just wasn't feeling it.  They were very orange and although I love orange...I wear orange a lot, I just don't like how it looks in my home...

 

So I took out all those faux leaves and added white pumpkins and now I love it! 

 

Sometimes I just have to fiddle with things a little bit until I like it. 

 

Good news...we are moving next week but not far! We are just moving to another building in the same complex.  I live in a huge complex with over 800 units. The new building hasn't had any of the numerous issues I've had with this building.  The floor plan is just like we have now except it's a mirror image of ours and we will have a gas fireplace! We're on the ground floor now and only the units on the 2nd and 3rd floor have the fireplaces! Perfect timing...I'll have a mantle to decorate for Christmas!
