The photographs were taken by fellow free running expert Jason Paul, who had to clamber up the buildings himself to take the pictures, often without permission of the buildings' owners. The dangerous shoot put Mr Shieff in 'life or death' situations as his strength was put to the test, he said.

Seattle man Jason Hakala sent a weather balloon 90,000 feet in the air that played with a GoPro camera and his iPhone attached, and captured a video (top right) of a marriage proposal from space. He used a GPS tracker to find where the balloon landed, and the following day played the video to his longtime girlfriend, Stella Yee, who he first met in high school. Hakala, a video producer for The Cut, recently uploaded a clip of the big question and has quickly gone viral.
