Most powerful telecommunications satellite ever ordered by MEASAT handed over

MEASAT-3b is 34th Eurostar E3000 satellite of Airbus Defence and Space to go into operation

Airbus Defence and Space, the world’s second largest space company, has successfully concluded in-orbit trials with MEASAT-3b. One month after launch, the satellite is now ready to enter commercial service and has been officially handed over to its operator, MEASAT.

Airbus Defense and Space awarded satellite communications Blanket Purchase Agreement to support US Special Operations Forces

Airbus Defense and Space announced today that it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) contract to provide L-band satellite communication (SATCOM) services to support the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

Awarded through the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, the BPA has a ceiling of $32.6 million and a period of performance of one base year plus four option years. Services covered by the BPA include Inmarsat BGAN, FleetBroadband and SwiftBroadband airtime.

8th Eurostar E3000 communications satellite built by Airbus Defence and Space for Eutelsat.

Airbus Defence and Space has successfully completed the final integration and testing of Eutelsat 3B: the satellite has left the Airbus Defence and Space facilities in Toulouse, France, and has been transported by air to Long Beach, California.
