Tim Davis/Special Tactics Memorial March
SSgt Tim Davis lost his life in the line of duty February 20, 2009. He was a true selfless hero and the consumate quiet professional. My team and I are honoring his memory and the other men of USAF Combat Control (CCT) that have made the ultimate sacrafice by making a little trek.
Twelve highly motivated men will relay across 5 states two at a time carrying 50 pound packs (Ruck Sacks). We will begin our 800 mile journey October 6, 2009, where all CCT begin their careers, Medina Annex, Lackland AFB TX (San Antonio). Our mission will be complete approximately 10 days later at Hurlburt Field Florida (Ft Walton Bch), where we will meet our brothers at the annual CCT reunion. October 17, Tim's name will be added to the Combat Control memorial at the Hurlburt Field Air Park.
My team is hoping to raise awareness and support for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Their official website is http://www.specialops.org/. I encourage you to learn more about it. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations people who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations people and their families. SOWF currently has 119 students in colleges and universities across the country.
Tim is survived by TJ (Timmy Junior), his 1 1/2 year old son. It is our honor to help raise support for TJ and other children of our fallen warriors. With SOWF, these children are guaranteed to receive a great education and the promise of a bright future.
Monetary donations can be made on this site or may be given to anyone on our team. If you would like to support in any other way please contact me at 850 496-0038. I will post more information as it comes available. http://www.sgtmacsbar.com/CCTPhotos/Gallery24/Davis/Davis.html
