Timeless beauty Julianne Moore, 53, dazzles in figure-hugging gown at the Women of Worth event in NYC

At 53-years-old Julianne Moore is showing no signs of ageing.

The timeless beauty - who celebrates her birthday on Wednesday - looked effortlessly red carpet ready at the L'Oreal Women of Worth Celebration in New York on Tuesday.

Elegant as always, the Still Alice star showed-off her trim figure in a form-fitting sleeveless black gown with ruffle trim.

Her hair was swept into a sophisticated up 'do and she wore smokey grey eye makeup and some shimmering dusky rose lipstick.

Keeping her outfit classic and understated, the actress donned a pair of elegant diamond drop earrings and carried with her a chic black and gold box clutch.

There appeared to be a monochromatic theme for the occasion as Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell, Diane Keaton, and Aimee Mullins were also seen glamming it up in black or black and white ensembles.

The Women of Worth Celebration honours everyday women who achieved great things over the past year.

The 10 honourees were women who had helped society and their communities with everything from a breast cancer-detecting computer program to helping homeless veterans to providing diaper services to mothers.

Each of the women chosen received a $10,000 grant to donate to a charity or to use for their work.

L’Oréal Paris President, Karen T. Fondu said: 'Each year, we are moved and inspired by the thousands of powerful stories we receive through the nomination process.

'These women are wielding their passion to make an incredible impact on their communities, and beyond.

'The 2014 Women of Worth honorees are heroic, fearless and true changemakers who deserve to be celebrated, and their stories elevated, to inspire more women to make a difference in the lives of others.'

As well as celebrating her 54th birthday this week, Julianne will be smiling about her big win on Monday night as she scooped the Best Actress award for her role in Still Alice at the Gotham Independent Film Awards.
