Cameron Diaz spices up her conservative grey skirt as she flashes a hint of bra in a semi-sheer black top at Annie photocall

She's one of the most glamorous stars in Hollywood, but Cameron Diaz was looking far more bookish on Wednesday night.

The actress was attending a photocall for the remake of musical Annie, and opted for an uncharacteristically conservative grey calf-length skirt and a chunky waisted belt.

But the 42-year-old made sure to spice things up a little by flashing a mere hint of bra in a semi sheer black top.

Diaz brightened her face with a pinky red lipstick, and kept jewellery to a minimum with just a few rings - though none looked like they were of the engagement kind.

The screen star completed her look by wearing her golden blonde locks teased into a low-key plait.

Last month, Cameron begun wearing a giant sparkler on her wedding finger which sparked speculation that she had become engaged to boyfriend of eight months Benji Madden.

In Cosmopolitan’s upcoming January 2015 issue, she talks about her new man, romance and finding the right partner.

‘You have to find someone in the same place as you are,' Cameron counsels.

'Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn't want, it’s never gonna work.'

She continued: 'You’re never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who’s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.'

But through her string of highly publicized romances with stars like Matt Dillon, Justin Timberlake, Alex Rodriguez and Sean 'Diddy' Combs, she revealed to the magazine the wisdom she gained.

'Here’s the thing. You make the same mistake over and over again until you learn your lesson,' she said.
