All hail, George! Clooney brings back his classic Caesar haircut as he dresses up in ancient Roman armour on set of new film

He re-popularized the Caesar haircut back in the Nineties.

And for his new film Hail, Caesar! George Clooney brings back the classic hair style.

On Thursday the 53-year-old actor was seen for the first time on the Los Angeles set dressed in ancient Roman garb.

The Ocean's Eleven star looked much like a gladiator entering the Roman Coliseum as he was adorned in a primarily brown leather outfit.

George donned thick wristbands and body armour which featured a gold studded detailing all over it, as he wore it over a white and red tunic.

The ensemble included an attached sword and scabbard featuring the same metallic gold detailing in addition to a pair of strappy brown leather sandals.

To go along with the costume the actor had his dark locks combed forward in a Caesar 'do.

The newly married star appeared to be quite comfortable in the outfit as he often smiled while holding onto the handle of his sword and even joked around with the cameramen on set.

Actor Josh Brolin was also seen on set as he was in character in two very different ensembles from George's armoured look.

The 46-year-old actor looked dapper as he wore two different double-breasted suits: one brown and one pinstriped grey.

The W. star completed both look with a white smart shirt, tie, leather dress shoes and a fedora atop his head.

Josh stars in the Coen brothers directed film as a character named Eddie Mannix, who according to the film's synopsis, is a Hollywood fixer that works to keep the studio's stars in line during the latter years of the Golden Age.

Hail, Caesar! is the eighth collaborative effort between Joel and Ethan Cohen, who are known for their work on No Country For Old Men and True Grit, as Variety reported they began filming in early November.

George is also a frequent collaborator with the two filmmakers as he has starred in their flicks Burn After Reading and O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

The project boasts an all-star cast in addition to George and Josh, including the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Ralph Fiennes and Ralph Fiennes.

Hail, Caesar! will be released in the US by Universal Pictures in February 2016.
