Friday may well have marked the birthday of TOWIE star James Argent, but cast-mate and on-off girlfriend Lydia Bright was elsewhere as he kicked off his celebrations.

The 24-year-old was en route to Brentwood boutique Bella Sorella, the business she co-owns with sister Georgia, for another day at work as the week drew to a gradual close.

Sporting a striking black winter jacket with distinctly unseasonal semi-sheer arms, Lydia was in high spirits on a gloomy day in the Essex town.

The TV personality teamed her jacket with a knee-length dress and black leather boots, while matching gloves ensured her hands remained warm as she made the short walk to her modest boutique.

Accessorising with a black leather handbag, Lydia greeted onlookers with a warm smile as troubled Argent, with whom she is rumoured to have split, celebrated his 27th birthday.

The TOWIE star is reportedly missing the ITVBe show's Christmas special while producers debate whether he should be allowed to return at all after allegedly testing positive for cocaine.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Producers have told Arg he will not appear in the December one-off.'

Meanwhile, Lydia recently revealed she wasn't surprised her co-star Gemma Collins quit I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! because the bubbly blonde likes the finer things in life.

And Lydia believes she would be better suited to the jungle than Gemma.

The star is no stranger to the great outdoors and physical challenges, having just signed up for an eight-day 250-mile cycle ride across Vietnam and Cambodia in January to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

'I think the jungle is something I'd be more suited to because for me, slumming it is not really a big thing,' she told OK! magazine.

'I've been backpacking and I've camped out before and I've travelled, so I'm fine with that. And I like challenges.That would be one that I would absolutely love to do.'
