‘My only sunshine....' Kelly Rowland shares photo of herself nursing newborn son Titan after her mother Doris's sudden death

Kelly Rowland's mother died suddenly on Tuesday - only weeks after the singer welcomed her first child.

And in the midst of her grief the 33-year-old is taking solace in the new life - sharing a touching photograph of herself cradling one-month-old Titan.

Kelly captioned the affectionate image: ‘My only sunshine...... you make me happy, when skies are grey #TITAN #LIFE’

The Destiny's Child alum's words referenced the song You Are My Sunshine, and the 'life' hashtag included in the caption serves as a tribute to her son amid the 'grey skies' she suffered following her 66-year-old mother Doris Rowland Garrison's passing.

Kelly's silhouette is seen in the artistic snap, and it appears that she's nursing her newborn. She's seated with her head bent over as she gazes lovingly at her bundle of joy who she holds toward her breasts. 

Her robe is apparent on one side of her shoulder, but on the other side it appears to be low-slung.

Although no cause of death has been announced, Kelly's mother passed away in her hometown of Atlanta. On Saturday the new grandmother would have celebrated her 67th birthday. 

In statement released to the Associated Press on Wednesday, the When Love Takes Over singer said that her mother was 'an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices.'

Kelly gave birth to her son with husband Tim Witherspoon on November 4.
