She’s a Hollywood leading lady, so naturally Keira Knightley was keen to remain the focal point on Sunday night.

The 29-year-old actress made a stunning red carpet appearance with her husband James Righton at the Moet British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market in London.

Dressed in an embroidered off-white dress, the actress happily stopped to pose for pictures with her husband of one year by her side as she sauntered through the entrance.

The elegant gown, which was clinched at the waist, featured silver and gold floral stitching and white fur trimming along the caped sides.

She added height to the proceedings with an envy-inducing pair of teal coloured heels, while keeping her accessories to a minimum with diamond encrusted earrings and a matching ring.

Wearing her dark glossy locks in a classy updo, complete with a side parting, Keira accentuated her striking facial features with taupe eyewear and shiny pink lipstick.

Her Klaxons beau looked handsome in a perfectly tailored grey suit, which he teamed with a crisp white shirt and a thin black tie.

The brunette beauty, whose credits now include Love Actually, Anna Karenina and Atonement, was also joined by The Imitation Game co-star Benedict Cumberbatch and his fiancé Sophie Hunter at the lavish affair.

The 38-year-old actor – who announced his engagement last month – is due to be presented with the Variety Award, which recognises a talent who has helped to focus the international spotlight on the UK.

Sophie looked lovely in a demure leather dress, which flowed to mid-calf and featured a high collar and short sleeves.

She wore a pair of black heels with gold toes and carried a clutch bag.

Her hair flowed around her face and the theatre director couldn't have looked prouder of her fiance as they posed with their arms around each other on the red carpet.

Benedict was dapper in a black suit with matching shirt and tie and looked relaxed and happy as he arrived with Sophie.

Other guests included Dame Helen Mirren, songstress Paloma Faith and British actor Max Irons at the star-studded bash.
