Here comes Mr. Cool! Ryan Gosling gives his best blue steel before slamming into hard metal in a dramatic Nice Guys scene

He has been setting women's hearts on fire for years and on Friday he proved, even in the face of danger, he still could get them to skip a beat.

Preparing for a very dramatic scene in new film Nice Guys, the 34-year-old looked cool, calm and collected on the Atlanta, Georgia, set.

The new father was nonchalant and looking good doing so as he arrived at the Hilton Hotel where the day's shoot was going down.

Showing why he is one of the most desired men of the planet, the Beyond The Pines star made standing around look like a fashion shoot.

Ryan arrived dressed in a stylish ensemble of a long sleeved white waffle T-shirt under a shearling lined Levis jacket with a pair of dark jeans and beat up old lace up boots.

As his upcoming scene was rather technical and could potentially see the actor get hurt, he and his co-star paced out the scene to make sure they knew exactly what they were doing before director Shane Black yelled 'Action!'

Despite the dramatic segment approaching, the actor laughed and joked with the crew and pulled rather funny faces to lighten the mood.

However, when it was time for the cameras to roll Ryan was all business.

And he had good reason to be serious, as in the scene his character Holland March had to fall from the skybridge smashing through glass and landing heavily onto the roof of a car.

While the star's stunt double had to film the fall through the skybridge earlier in the studio for safety, Ryan still had do the heavy landing.

Not holding back, the Notebook star launched himself into the air and smashed down onto his stomach on the hood of the 1970s car.

Making the scene even more dramatic, the crew blasted fake glass into the air at the same time so that it landed around Ryan as he hit the roof.

Despite smashing himself into the car, the actor got up almost instantly and flashed a big smile at the crew.

Taking care of business: Beforehand, the actor laughed and joked with the crew and pulled rather funny faces to lighten the mood but, as soon as the cameras started rolling, he was very serious

As Ryan is playing a private investigator from the Seventies, he ditched his hipster ensemble for something with a little but more polyester.

For filming, the star was dressed in an off white pant suit - complete with flared pants - and a rather ghastly bright blue shirt.

The star also currently sports some very period appropriate facial hair and voluminous locks.

The investigator seems to have had more than a just a Russell with the car, as Ryan also wore a fake bloody cast.

In Nice Guys, Ryan's Holland March is tasked with finding a missing girl while also investigating the apparent suicide of a porn star.

The private investigator joins forces with hired heavy Jackson Healy - played by Russell Crowe - after it becomes clear that there is a conspiracy involved in the case.

Matt Bomer, Kim Basinger and Beau Knapp also star in the film helmed by Iron Man 3 director Shane Black.

While obviously enjoying becoming the private eye on the hunt for a missing girl, the location has meant Ryan is away from his girlfriend Eva Mendes and their newborn daughter Esmeralda.

He will have time after the film however, to dedicate himself to his ladies as Ryan has not announced any new roles post the Seventies whodunit.

The star is also jetting back to be with his 40-year-old partner and his little girl as much as possible.

Eva told Ellen DeGeneres they are getting the hang of being parents - its just sleeping through the night they still have to master.

She said when asked about the baby sleeping through: ‘No! No, God no,. She’s two months! You know we’re getting the hang of it, the sleeping thing, but yeah I’m exhausted and it’s the best.'

The Nice Guys is slated for release June 17, 2016.
