She's got her Christmas jumper on! Reese Witherspoon dons festive sweater as she heads to the grocery store with Jim Toth

She's been away from home on a whirlwind promotional tour for her gritty new film Wild.

But Reese Witherspoon is making up for lost time as she catches up with her family. 

And the 38-year-old kept it low key as she and talent agent husband Jim Toth headed to the grocery store in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Reese wore a festive Christmas jumper on her grocery outing.

The $95 sweater, from Reese's favourite store - J Crew, featured a multi coloured Fair Isle pattern.

She coupled that with form-fitting blue jeans that showed off her fit figure, and a pair of bright, white tennis shoes.

Her long blonde locks were styled straight, and she hid here eyes behind a pair of over-sized thick-framed sunglasses.

Jim sported a laid-back look for the outing, donning a navy blue Adidas zip-up emblazoned with the mascot for Loyola Marymount University.

He coupled that with a pair of dark blue Adidas athletic shorts, and bright blue sneakers, with a pair of long black socks.

He was also spotted wearing a blue baseball cap, and could be seen holding Reese's hand throughout the trip.

The couple seemed to be in good spirits as they held hands and smiled during the trip, following which they made their way back to their vehicle with a full shopping cart.

On Friday the two were spotted donning raincoats as they braved rainy weather in Los Angeles with their two-year-old son Tennessee.

Most recently, Reese has been busy promoting her film Wild, which depicts the remarkable story of Cheryl Strayed’s healing hike of over 1000 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. 

The introspective journey, taken alone, was her attempt to put her life back together four years after her mom's death. 

Wild will be released in the UK on January 16.
