But perhaps things are getting equally as serious for Miley Cyrus and new beau Patrick Schwarzenegger.

As well as looking extremely comfortable in each other's company, Miley's head was turned by a glamorous wedding-style dress in a Beverly Hills shop window on Tuesday

The 22-year-old star couldn't resist a peak at the white strapless fairytale gown in the window of the department store, with even Patrick taking a quick glance.

The couple, who have been reportedly dating for a few months, looked happy and relaxed together, with Miley wearing little make-up, blue dungarees, a white T-shirt and cardigan.

Patterned off-white sneakers and a slouchy grey beret completed the look., while she was still nursing her injured arm with a bandage wrapped around it.

Miley stayed overnight in hospital on Friday after having a scheduled operation that afternoon to remove a cyst from under her skin.

The Wrecking Ball hit-maker made light of the situation however, first posting a graphic image of the wound and then turning it into a series of memes.

The star occasionally held Patrick's arm during the stroll, and he leant down to whisper into his girlfriend's ear.

The oldest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver currently studies at the University of Southern California (USC) and was celebrating a month's break from school.

'Wintaaaa break. Nice little month off,' he wrote on his Twitter page on Monday.

The couple's romance came amid reports that Patrick's mother Maria Shriver disapproves of the relationship ad was 'disgusted' to see photographs of Miley topless and straddling a bucking bronco in the shape of a male member at her 22nd birthday party.

A source told Hollywoodlife.com: 'The birthday party with all the penis pictures disgusted her. That was the worst thing Miley could have done.

'Maria is very, very worried about the influence Miley’s having on Patrick.

'She fully believes that you become who you surround yourself with and she’s always been so happy with the friends Patrick chooses, she never saw this coming.'

However, another source maintained that Maria 'trusts' her children's choices, with an insider telling People: 'It's untrue that Maria is unhappy. If Patrick's happy. She's happy.'
