New York may be experiencing dipped temperatures at the moment, but that hasn’t stopped Beyonce from flashing the flesh.

The 33-year-old superstar showed off her toned pins in a pair of tight lycra shorts when she stepped out with husband Jay Z in New York City on Tuesday night.

Teaming her style choice with a black hooded-jacket, the singer was unable to hide her smile as she prepared herself for an evening out pals Pharrell Williams and Rita Ora.

She added some height to the proceedings with platform leather ankle boots, while wrapping a red plaid shirt around her slender waist.

Her rapper beau kept things simple with black trousers, a casual jumper and a matching jacket, which he teamed with an eye-catching pair of red trainers.

In the short film Yours And Mine starring Blue Ivy, Bey commemorates the one year anniversary of her self-titled visual album and opens up about her struggle with fame.

'I sometimes wish I could be anonymous walking down the street like everyone else,' she admitted. 

'Before I was famous I was the girl on the hill with a guitar. I was the girl that just wanted a beautiful view of the beach. Now that I'm famous it's really, really difficult to do very simple things.'

Later adding: 'I think it's the hardest thing to give up, but my mother always taught me to be strong and to never be a victim, never make excuses, never expect anyone else to provide me things that I know I can provide for myself.’
