She spent the morning covered up during a family brunch.

But Taylor Swift ditched the layers and knits for a sizzling new ensemble for a night out in the Big Apple on Monday.

The hitmaker showed off her long legs in a cropped trench coat and was accompanied by her younger brother in well-coordinated black ensembles.

The Shake It Off singer cut an elegant figure in a cropped belted black trench coat over a lace dress.

Her sheer stockings revealed her trim pins that were emphasized in her black platform booties.

She had on a generous amount of makeup, including a bright red lip and bronze eye shadow, and kept her blond locks wrapped up. The knockout's side-swept bangs were kept under a spectacular, sparkling hair accessory.

Her brother, Austin, 22, was a handsome companion in a black suit that included a purple V-neck sweater for a pop of color.

Clearly spending time with family is on the songbird's mind with Christmas quickly approaching.

Ahead of the glamorous transformation, the 25-year-old songstress kept things casual and weather appropriate when she was spotted out in New York City taking her mother Andrea, father Scott and younger brother Austin to brunch at the chic Greenwich Hotel.

And just a day earlier, the Love Story hit maker received a delivery of a car load of festively wrapped gifts to her apartment, hinting that she'll be spending the holidays in the Big Apple with her loved ones this year.

Taylor looked like a winter's dream in a navy polo-neck sweater, tartan mini skirt and purple woolen tights.

She kept warm in a cute duffle coat and a snug green woolly hat. Swift added a couple of inches to her frame in tan heeled brogues.

For a touch of glam, the singer donned her trademark red lipstick and thick feline flicks of eyeliner.

The family of four looked to be in great spirits on the chilly outing and though Taylor's parents are reportedly now separated and living apart, they didn't appear to mind spending the festive season together.

Taylor celebrated her 25th on December 13 and threw a huge pizza party at her apartment, with the guest list reading like a who's who of the music industry.

Justin Timberlake, and power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z led the pack of VIPs who were shuttled in vans and limos to her Tribeca abode as well as Selena Gomez and best friend Karlie Kloss.

Meanwhile, Taylor's summer hit Shake It Off has been nominated for a Grammy for Song Of The Year.

And as the year comes to a close, Taylor's fifth studio album 1989 - which was released on October 27 - continues to soar with USA Today naming it Album Of The Year.

The majority of songs were co-written by Taylor with a slew of other well-known artists.

The album has been compared to Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel Of Love in its musical style and sold 1.287 million copies in its first week of release.

The entertainer may be drawing inspiration from megastars Justin Timberlake and Jay Z, who were spotted leaving her Tribeca apartment together after an apparent meeting on Monday.
