Write on! Gary Barlow to 'pen musical score' for planned biopic charting Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards notorious Olympic ski jump
Gary Barlow is in talks to write the soundtrack for the Eddie the Eagle movie.
The Take That star has reportedly entered into advanced negotiations with producer Matthew Vaughn to pen the score for the currently untitled film about the 1988 Olympic ski-jump failure Eddie Edwards.
A source told The Sun newspaper: 'Gary loves the Eddie the Eagle story and Eighties music so it's a perfect match.

'It's also the first time he would have written an entire soundtrack, so it's an exciting project to be involved in.'
Gary's representative later told MailOnline: 'I understand that he's been approached.'
Harry Potter star Rupert Grint was originally tipped for the starring role in the movie - which follows the plight of former plasterer during the Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada.
Steve Coogan was also linked to the role when plans for a biopic chronicling Eddie's rise to fame were unveiled.

Eddie started on the road to the Olympics from the moment he went on a school skiing trip aged 13.
'When I got back, I spent every spare moment on the slopes and dreamed of going to the Alps. So after my O-levels I did go there, paying my way with odd job,' he told MailOnline in 2007.
'I realised I'd never make it to the Olympics for the downhill, but we had no ski-jumpers, so I decided to give it a go - it used to be a rule that each country could send one representative to each sport in the Olympics, and I realised two years before Calgary that I might just make it because no one else was going to apply.'

Eddie, 51, famously finished last in the 70m and 90m events - earning him the ironic and enduring nickname 'The Eagle.'
Meanwhile Barlow, 43, has teamed up with Vaughan after writing songs for his upcoming thriller Kingsman: The Secret Service' which is set to be released in February and his 2007 fantasy film 'Stardust'.
He also worked on the 'Finding Neverland theatre musical with US-born producer Harvey Weinstein last year.
